Life Is Beautiful is, above all else, a visual festival experience. An eyeball feast. Between the electricity created by the neon and the hair raising static emanating from the majority of those in attendance, LIB is an oasis of mind altering light, even in the late summer daylight hours before the desert sun glides below downtown. In other words, a photographer's dream. Hard to go wrong.
Like an ouija board, one's camera finds the righteousness of this non B&W affair. And since this party can't be taken home in a doggie bag, freeze frame memories will do as the leftovers that can be snacked on forever.
Las Vegas brings out the worst in people at times. But during this weekend, fueled by hope and a desire to be high on life and/or a desire to pursue better living through chemicals, everyone becomes a sight grabber, every situation a great visual possibility. Oh yeah, there were bands and dj's performing too. But they're just a sideshow. The real show is out on the streets, dancing about on their own stage, hoping Monday never comes.......but there's always the leftovers in the bag.
